June McMichael Refrow Services to be announced at a later date. Born September 10, 1940 in Hattiesburg, June passed away January 28, 2019. She graduated from Forrest County Agricultural School in 1959 and received an associate degree in typing from Draughn’s Business School in Jackson, MS.

June married Michael Deneen in 1965 and had one son, Joe Michael Deneen. June worked several years for Forrest General Hospital. Following her marriage to Eugene Renfrow in 1974, June became active in social work and in 1988 she found her true God-given calling as assistant director and then program director at The Shafer Center for Crisis Intervention.

Her dedication to the families of homicide victims led to many lasting friendships. Also active with the Lamar County Sheriff’s Department as a victim advocate, June was a stalwart to anyone in crisis. June leaves behind her son, Joe Deneen, her friends at Hattiesburg Community Church, and the special people who she cared about to the end.
