June Goolsby Goff, 86 passed away on November 2, 2018 at Life Care Center of America of Orange Park. June was born in O’Brien, FL on June 3, 1932 to Thelma and Irvin Goolsby. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, R. J. Goff.

She spent many years enjoying traveling and collecting orchids to add to her green house. She was a charter member of the Orchid Society of Jacksonville. In her later years, she spent many days volunteering at the Life Care Center of Orange Park.

During those years, she with the help of her husband planned activities for the residents. Each year, for numerous years beginning in August, she would start preparing handmade gifts for each of the 180 residents of the Life Care Center. Due to her dedication to volunteerism she was awarded the Life Care Center “Volunteer of the Year 2000”.

She was also selected to receive the “Wind Beneath My Wings National Volunteerism Award” in 2000 from 230 long term care facilities across the United States. June and R. J. were jointly awarded the Florida Healthcare Association Volunteer Award of the Year in 2008. June retired from the finance department of the healthcare support office at the Jacksonville Naval Air Station.

June is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Paul Goolsby. She is survived by three sisters, Hazel Brannon, Juanita Langston, and Voncelle Hunnicutt. She also leaves with cherished memories, her dear friend Helen Falch and family, nephew and niece Joe and Rita Goff and family, and many nephews and nieces.

The family would like to thank the staff of Life Care Center in Orange Park for their loving care and many happy memories. Funeral services in celebration of her life will be held Monday, November 5, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 111 Blanding Blvd. , Orange Park, FL.

Interment will follow in Jacksonville Memory Gardens. Family members and friends will gather from 1 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home on Monday afternoon.
