Wynelle J. Stange, born April 11, 1921, passed away peacefully at St. Vincent’s Riverside Community Hospice on December 13, 2018. Born in Fitzgerald, Georgia, she lived in Pratt City, Alabama and Washington DC before marrying in 1942 and moving to Jacksonville, Florida where she lived until her death. She worked as a bookkeeper with a local medical practice for many years.

Her avocations included tennis which she played (and taught) into her 80s and playing cards. Her love of life and outgoing personality enriched the lives of her family and many friends. She will be missed greatly and remembered always.

Wynelle is survived by her four daughters; Marci Ulery, Barbara Adcock (Charlie), Glenda Harris (Dave) and Debbie Knight (Terry), her sister-in-law, Joan Jowers, nine grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Robert Lee Stange, her brothers, Gordon, Carroll and Roy Jowers and sisters-in-law, Alberta Jowers and Jean Jowers. A celebration of Wynelle’s life will be held on Monday, December 17, at 1 p.m. at Jacksonville Memory Gardens in Orange Park with visitation at noon.

A reception is planned for 3 p.m. at Lake Shore United Methodist Church. The family recognizes and is grateful to Riverside Presbyterian House, Cross Care Center, St. Vincent’s Hospital Riverside and Community Hospice for the kindness and loving care provided to Wynelle in the last 4 years.
