Karen Elizabeth James, 80, of Burnsville, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019, at her home. A native of Galveston, Texas, she was a daughter of the late Warren and Katheryn Harris Deats. She was also preceded in death by her husband: Dalton Dean James, who passed away in 2015.

Karen was a secretary for Marathon Oil Company for 25 years. She was an avid quilter. Surviving are her daughters: Joycelyn Kay James-Tate and husband, James, of Burnsville and Jennifer Lynn James-Grupe of Houston, TX; granddaughters: Andrea Stromeyer and husband, William, and Sarah Kelton and husband, Jesse, both of Houston, TX, Amber DiFalco and husband, Christopher of Las Vegas, NV and Amanda Tate of Reno, NV; 1 great grandchild: Elizabeth Stromeyer of Houston, TX; 2 sisters: Fran Mears and husband, Roger, of Marble Falls, TX and Genieve Baird of Electra, TX; and, a brother: Edward Deats and wife, Mary, of Sealey, TX.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
