Obituary of Karen Spontaneo Karen E. Spontaneo, 59, of Kennedy, NY, passed away Wednesday February 20, 2019 in the Erie County Medical Center. She was born April 30, 1959 in Jamestown the daughter of the late Irving “Joe” and Betty Mae Harmic Leonard. Karen was a 1977 graduate of Jamestown High School, and for over 30 years worked in banking, with Goldome and Key Bank.

She was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels. Karen enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, gardening, and she loved the Christmas season. Her favorite times were those spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband David E. Spontaneo whom she married May 28, 1977; two daughters, Kristi L. (Russ) Leone of Fredonia; Nicole M. Spontaneo of Jamestown; six grandchildren: Gioachino V. Donisi and David A. Donisi, both of Jamestown; Elliana G. Leone, Rusty A. Leone, Anthony J. Leone all of Fredonia; Mara E. Leone of Rochester; two sisters: Patricia (Michael) Flynn of Jamestown; Carol (William) Voss of Bloomsburg, PA; a brother, Irving “Joe” (Helen) Leonard Jr. of Jamestown, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Adam Voss. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. A private burial will be in the Ivory Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation www.
