Katelyn Brooke McCann, 26, of Midland, NC entered into Heaven’s gates on Friday, June 29, 2018. Katelyn was born June 15, 1992 in Charlotte, NC to Michael C. McCann, Sr. and Angela B. McCann. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, James Brooks, Sr. and grandmother, Wanda Holder; her paternal grandmother, Judith Ann Kauffmann and grandfather, Norman Lee Crowe; as well as her aunt, Daina Marie Crowe.

Survivors include her son, Cameron McCann; her mother, Angela B. McCann; her father, Michael C. McCann, Sr. and wife, Tammy; sister, Diana Schanck and husband, Jake; sister, Julia Montgomery and husband, Andrew; brother, Junior McCann; step-sister, Alayna Tester; maternal grandmother, Darlene Brooks; paternal grandfather, Terry McCann and wife, Joanne; great-grandmother, Doris Brooks; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. A memorial service to celebrate Katelyn’s life will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Pastor Lewis Gunn of Lake Wylie Christian Assembly.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the 5 Sparrows organization, which is a nonprofit corporation with a mission to assist in countering human trafficking in the United States, at www. 5sparrowsfdc.com. Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving Katelyn’s family.
