William “Bill” Jackson Maxwell, Jr., 89, of Concord, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018. Bill was born February 10, 1929 in Cabarrus County to the late William Jackson Maxwell, Sr. and the late Effie Brice Maxwell. Bill was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Betty Jean Love Maxwell; son, Terry Maxwell; and two brothers, Frank and Fred Maxwell.

Bill was a veteran of the United States Army, Airborne Division. He retired as a plumber. Bill was a member of Vision Baptist Church, Rockwell.

Survivors include son, David (Robin) Maxwell of Concord; daughter-in-law, Pat Maxwell of Concord; three grandsons, Chris, Justin (Kendra), and Nathan Maxwell; three great-grandchildren, Isaac, Natalie, and Oliver Maxwell; brother, Wood (Ann) Maxwell; sister, Louise Fink; and several loving nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord Chapel, officiated by Rev. Trooper Ferguson.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 10:00 am to 10:45 am, at the funeral home. Following the service, Bill will be laid to rest with military honors at Carolina Memorial Park Kannapolis. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to Vision Baptist Church, 10185 Old Beatty Ford Rd, Rockwell, NC 28138.
