Charles Albert Smith, Jr., 80, of Concord, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 27, 2018 with all of his family by his side. Charles was born March 4, 1938 in Concord to the late Charles Albert Smith, Sr. and the late Hallie Marie Myers Smith. He was also preceded in death by beloved daughter Charlene Smith; and fourteen siblings.

Charles retired from Allison Fence Company after 57 years. He was a very active member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and Central Cabarrus Bible Teaching for many years. Survivors include beloved wife of 60 years, Betty Joe Teal Smith; son, Mike (Patty) Smith; daughter, Ann Mouchet; daughter, Darice (Dennis) Pless; 9 grandchildren, Gale (Rob) Acuff, Jill Smith, Charlie Smith, Jackie Jo Smith, Mike (Meghan) Mouchet, Will Mouchet, Jake Mouchet, Greg (Michelle) Mouchet, Summer Christenbury; 8 great-grandchildren, Scarlett, Robert and Michael Acuff; Tripp and Silas Smith; Miles, Margo and Macklin Mouchet; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 am – 11:45 am, Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg. The funeral service will be on Tuesday at 12:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Rev. Stephen Hicks.

Burial will follow at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Concord. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to Central Cabarrus Bible Teaching Association. Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg is serving the Smith family.
