Obituary for Kathe Cook Sylvia Kathleen Cook (Kathe), beloved to her family and all who truly knew her, passed on to the next step in Eternity on June 19, 2018. She had fought for many years with a rare type of body-destroying neuropathy, to which she finally succumbed. She was born on May 6, 1943, to her parents Honore Cecile and John William Cook, in San Francisco, California.

Kathe was a whole-heartedly committed and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and her life focus was to serve in the Lord’s Kingdom here on earth, loving and helping those around her. Among her many Church callings, she served for many years in three different Temples (Los Angeles California, Oakland California, and Medford Oregon) as an ordinance worker. The Temple was always her favorite place to be and where she felt most at home.

The first 13 years of Kathe’s young life were spent in San Francisco, California, and she loved the memories of the “good old days” of her childhood there. She also lived in the Sacramento, California area, where she attended High School, then left home to go to a variety of colleges, including Brigham Young University, San Jose State University, Southern California University L.A. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.

Kathe worked as a counselor for LDS Church Social Services, as well as many other varied jobs during her lifetime. In later years, she always maintained that driving a Taxi was her favorite job, because she was so often able to share the Gospel with people as she helped them to their immediate destinations. Kathe never married, but she loved her family and those around her, which was consistently shown not only in her thoughts and words but in her actions.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Honore Cecile and John William Cook, as well as by her brother, John Lawrence Cook. Kathe is survived by her brother, Kirby William Cook and her sister Mauldwyn Dara Jo Cook. A memorial service will be held to honor the Goodness of Kathe’s life on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at the LDS Chapel at 633 W 400 N, in Saratoga Springs, Utah.

All friends and family are welcome. She will be sorely missed.
