Katherine Caldwell December 24, 1920 – January 23, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Mrs. Katherine Ward Caldwell, 98, a resident of the Polk Station community, died Wednesday morning, January 23, 2019, at the Obion County Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday, January 25, 2019, at White & Mahon Funeral Home in Troy, with Rev. Joe Thorn officiating.

Burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters. The family will receive friends from until 11:00 am until the hour of service on Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Caldwell was born December 24, 1920, in Troy, TN, daughter of the late Marion and Elsie (Norton) Whitehorn. She married Ralph Caldwell June 17, 1938. He died October 23, 1988.

She was a homemaker and loved to cook and sew. She was a long-time member of Troy United Methodist Church, and the Wolverine Club. The family requests memorials be sent to: Troy United Methodist Church 226 W. Westbrook Troy, TN 38260, or St. Jude PO Box 1000 Dept, 142 Memphis, Tn 38148-0142.

Mrs. Caldwell is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gaylon (Patsy) Caldwell, of Union City, and Gerald (Mary) Caldwell, of Dresden; seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her grandson, Brad Caldwell; a sister, Betty Whitehorn; and a brother, Ray Whitehorn.
