Katherine Marshall Brown Eaves, 98, of Midland, NC died peacefully on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at home surrounded by family. Katherine was born February 5, 1920 in Cabarrus County to the late Luther Benson Brown and the late Margaret Linker Brown. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Gordon Eaves, Sr. and half sister Alice Logan Brown.

She is survived by her two sons, James Gordon Eaves, Jr. and wife Jeanette; and Edward Eugene Eaves and wife Ann; grandchildren Jena Eaves Garrett, Jay, Anson, Karla and Jeron Eaves; six great grandsons, and two great granddaughters. The family will receive friends in the church sanctuary from 1:30 pm – 2:45 pm, Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Bethel United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm, officiated by Rev.

Mark Clontz and Rev. Roxane Almond. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.

She graduated from the Women’s College of Greensboro, and taught mathematics at Winecoff, Mt. Pleasant, Bethel and Central Cabarrus High Schools. She was a member Bethel United Methodist Church.

Katherine will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, Boger’s Chapel UMC, or Hospice of Cabarrus County. Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Eaves family.
