Kathleen’s Obituary Mary Kathleen Fennewald, 94, died on Monday, February 11, 2019 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico where she had resided the past six years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Martinsburg. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday evening from 4:00 – 7:30 at Arnold Funeral Home in Mexico. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Kathleen was born on March 10, 1924 in Martinsburg, the daughter of Fred Jacobi, Sr. and Elizbeth (Kersting) Jacobi. On July 23, 1946 she married A.H. “Fonsey” Fennewald at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Martinsburg.

She was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1944 – 1946. She enjoyed quilting, bingo, going to garage sales and auctions and Las Vegas. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a member of the Ladies Sodality.

She is survived by seven children; Betty Ann (Warwick) Rees of Possum Brush, Australia, Karen (Jonnie) Fessler of Salisbury, MO, Mike (Betty) Fennewald of Martinsburg, Mark (Linda) Fennewald of Benton City, Nancy (Bob) Mette of Laddonia, Becky (Tim) Hennessy of Columbia, and Fran (David) Grant of Columbia; 19 grandchildren, Kathleen Rees, Donna Smiley, David Fessler, Diane Barger, Dean Fessler, Debra Lohrding, Andrew Fennewald, Rebecca Hornbeck, Pam Jackson, Justin Fennewald, Emily Karr, Cynthia Fennewald, Jennifer Scheiner, Julie Buckman, Lisa Snow, Connor Hennessy, Maddie Grant, Lily Grant, and Sarah Grant; 26 great-grandchildren; siblings, Fred Jacobi of Mexico, Josephine Lauhoff of Brookfield, Ruth Patton of Mexico and George Jacobi of Wellsville; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Greg and Donna Fennewald of Martinsburg and Shirley Fennewald of Laddonia. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 14, 1990; an infant son Patrick and an infant daughter Jeanne; and sisters, Jane Plant, Patsy Tunney, and Mary Dorothy Jacobi. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Cemetery or the Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico in care of Arnold Funeral Home.
