She was 71. Born April 10, 1947 in Buffalo, NY, she graduated from Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, MD and the University of Maryland College Park, where she studied history and English.

Kathy will be missed by all for her loving, compassionate, and giving nature. In short, she was a true nurturer. A devoted and deeply caring mother, she raised four children, while also working for many years as a pre-school teacher, most recently at the Exeter Day School, in Exeter.

At various points she also worked in the arenas of human res and social services. She also enjoyed sailing, her rescue dogs, and all things related to nature- including wildlife, the ocean, and horticulture. Whether in a personal or professional capacity, she instilled in children under her care respect and appreciation for all creatures great and small.

She also had a special penchant for rescuing orphaned and injured wildlife. And wherever she lived, her green thumb was hard at work maintaining exceptional landscapes, plantings and gardens. Later on in life, her interest in yoga was reignited.

It became her passion and highlighted how she sought to nurture everyone and everything in her life. She helped found the Yoga Life Institute in Exeter, NH, and was certified by the Yoga Alliance as E-RYT 500 and YACEP. She taught classes at numerous locations across the Seacoast area, as well as volunteering her time to teach yoga for those with cancer.
