Obituary for Kathleen Sant Stock On September 9, 2018 our beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and dear friend Kathleen Sant Stock passed to the other side of the veil into the abundance of light. Kathy was born on July 2, 1942. At the age of 76 she was blessed to go peacefully in her sleep while lying in her bed.
The last song playing as she settled in her bed to rest was “Nearer My God To Thee” which now she is. Our Mother in her earlier years spent countless hours of service to her family and friends. She served through listening and understanding, unconditionally loving, caring for children, cooking and cleaning for all whom she loved.
She additionally served through many LDS Church callings including Relief Society President. When she was healthy she loved water and snow skiing, baton twirling for BYU and was extremely active. She has always loved being with family as much as possible, Mom expressed in her last days on earth the continual desire to be many places she could not be.
She wished to attend all family sports and activities; she especially desired to be in the physical presence of our humble and loving father Boyd LaRayne Stock. Boyd was guided to her through spirit and has been a loving partner of 51 years. It appeared Dad would go first, being the true gentleman that he is, yet she transitioned before him.
As much as it broke his heart, he didn’t want her to suffer physically or emotionally any longer. We now know this was God’s will through many impressions. We also feel her spirit free from the physical limitations, dancing in her ability to be in all places with many loved ones.
Kathy’s body began to give out years ago with physical ailments that accelerated the past few months. Her long survival thru stage 4 and 5 of kidney failure left doctors referring to her as a “walking miracle”. We believe she continued to walk this earth without dialysis because of the undying love in her heart for her family and her knowledge of our needs.
Just as Kathy always has, she unselfishly put the needs of her family first. Her passing was divine in nature, leaving this earth with the grace and consideration for others she’s always had. Additional to her kidney failure Kathy had a heart condition, although physically her heart may not have been considered strong, spiritually it had the greatest strength known.
We know ‘we will never be apart, for that is the way of the heart’. Kathleen is survived by her husband Boyd LaRayne Stock, sons; Douglas Stock, Alan (Cherie) Stock, and Gary (Lindsay) Stock. Daughters; Janet Stock, Julie Stock, Kim Stock Muir (Ken), Leslie Stock, and daughter by proxy LaVonne Wells Sandberg.
Her siblings; Arthur (Lucy) Sant, Julie Scheib, Robert (Connie) Sant, Harold (Shelly) Sant, Lawrence (Ruby) Sant, Norma (Mike) White, Valerie (David) Wehry. Eleven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family wishes to also thank the loving service provided through Adagio Hospice of Bountiful, Country Oaks Assisted living, and the Bountiful 7th ward members.
This along with so many other family, friends and members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who loved and assisted them throughout the earthly travels of our Mother and Father. Funeral services will be held Tuesday September 18, 2018 at the Bountiful 7th Ward located on 1250 South Main Street, Bountiful Utah at 2:00 pm (viewing at 1:00 pm). The burial will take place at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West.
The Bountiful 7th Ward members will serve a light dinner at 4:00 pm following the burial and dedication of the gravesite.
