Kram, 66, of Langdon, ND, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at Cavalier County Memorial Hospital in Langdon. Kathy was born July 25, 1952, in Langdon, ND, to Joseph J. and Ella (Olson) Kram. She attended school in Langdon, graduating in 1970.

Kathy continued her education at the University of North Dakota where she earned her bachelor’s degree in education. She also received her certification in library science from Mayville State University. She taught at St. Alphonsus School in Langdon, Holy Family School in Grand Forks, Wahpeton, and Minto, ND.

Kathy had wanted to be a teacher from a very early age and developed a real passion for teaching, always going above and beyond what was required. In 2016, she retired after 41 years of teaching and returned to Langdon where she currently resided. Kathy loved books and reading, often being asked by family for recommendations on what or who to read next.

Some of her favorite authors included John Grisham, Jodi Picoult, and Mitch Albom. She also enjoyed musical theater and plays. Kathy had a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephew and loved visiting and joking with them.

She was a very caring, generous person who will be dearly missed by her friends and family. Surviving Kathy is her brother, James, of Langdon; sister-in-law Helen Kram of Fargo, ND; nephew Jeff (Carrie) Kram of St. Anthony Village, MN; nieces: Karen Strom of Lecanto, FL, Katie (Justin) Dummer of Alexandria, MN, and Sara (Joe) Miller of Waller, TX, along with several great-nieces and a great-nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Jerry Kram.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Langdon, ND. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Monday, December 10, 2018, at Brooks Funeral Home in Langdon. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Langdon.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be directed to St. Alphonsus School Foundation, 1202 11th St., Langdon, ND 58249. SERVICES Funeral Service Tuesday, December 11, 2018 1:00 PM St. Alphonsus Catholic Church 209 10th Ave. Langdon, ND 58249 Get Directions on Google Maps Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Monday, December 10, 2018, at Brooks Funeral Home in Langdon and one hour prior to service time at the church on Tuesday.

Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Langdon.
