Katie Ellen Howle, 63, died Wednesday, May 08, 2019, at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence. Mrs. Howle was born September 7, 1955 in Florence County, daughter of the late Needen Evans and Elvera Flowers Evans. She was a member of Coward Baptist Church and was a retired sewing machine operator.

Mrs. Howle enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family. Surviving are her children, Rachel (Barry) Flowers of Effingham and Lonnie “Bucky” (Christy) Matthews, of Timmonsville; stepdaughter, Stephanie Howle of Hartsville; grandchildren, Robert (Megan) Flowers, Raymond (Allie) Flowers, Amber (Ryder) Jones, Chad (Kayla) Matthews, Anna (Pearce) Buie, Emily Matthews and Zachery Matthews; six great grandchildren; siblings, Helen (Carrol) Miles, Winston (Elwood) Evans, and Faye (Cecil) Flowers, all of Scranton; special friend, Lee Gowdy of Effingham and special puppy, Bear. Mrs. Howle was preceded in death by her siblings, Harry Lee Evans, Flemming Evans, Bobby Evans and Betty Carmon.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, May 10, 2019, at Coward Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Anderson Cemetery, Coward. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Thursday, May 9, 2019, at Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton.
