Obituary for Kenneth D. Harrod Kenneth D. “Ken” Harrod, 88, of Wapakoneta, died 8:10 pm. , Thurs. Nov.

1, 2018, at Mercy Health- St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, with his family at his side. He was born Dec. 4, 1929, in Wapakoneta, the son of Walter & Mayme (Pfenning) Harrod, who preceded him in death.

On Oct. 4, 1952, he married Gladys M. Rostorfer, and she died Jan. 17, 2007.

Survivors include, 3 children, Brenda (Terry) Hetrick, Oak Harbor, OH, Lee (Susan) Harrod, Wapakoneta, Lynn (Scot) Murchland, Birmingham, AL, 6 grandchildren, Kevin (Stacey) Hetrick, Lindsay (Adam) Fisher, Nicole (Scott) Judd, Kaley Murchland, Samuel Harrod, & Alexandra Harrod, 6 great grandchildren, companion, Joanne Wolfe, Wapakoneta, and brother, Robert Harrod, Wapakoneta. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Maxwell Harrod, and 2 half brothers, Merle Harrod and Clyde Harrod. Ken worked as a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service.

He was a graduate of Blume High School, and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta. His other memberships included the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie #691, and the former Wapakoneta Elks.

Ken’s hobbies included playing cards, taking walks, and watching sporting events. He enjoyed spending time with family, grandchildren & great grandchildren. He also enjoyed the many Rostorfer family gatherings.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Sun. Nov. 4, 2018, at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, 1102 Lincoln Ave.

(St. Rt. 501), Wapakoneta, with Pastor Doug Pretorius officiating. Burial is to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta.

The family will receive family & friends 1-3 p.m., Sun. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.
