Kim Alan Highfield December 29, 1954 – May 13, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card Kim Alan Highfield, a resident of Eastpointe, Michigan passed away on Monday, May 13, 2019 at the age of 64. He was born December 29, 1954 in Mount Clemens, Michigan to the late Alfred J. and Geraldine M. Baert Highfield. Mr. Highfield was employed by the City of Roseville in the Department of Public Works for over 23 years, retiring on June 23, 2012.

He attended Trinity Lutheran Church where he was baptized, confirmed and was educated at the church’s parochial school. Visiting the Grayling and White Birch area of Northern Michigan, he enjoyed fishing, was a ‘pretend’ hunter, sharing time at deer camp with family and friends. Bowling, watching John Wayne movies, listening to Frank Sinatra or country music were just some of his favorite things to do.

His culinary skills are certainly worth mentioning. He loved to cook, making soups, chili and London broil, meticulously preparing the food items, and chopping vegetables. Some straight forward recipes often times took him several days to get just right.

Special family trips, especially to Washington DC created many wonderful memories. He will be greatly missed by his loving family, including former wife Robin, daughters, Stacey L. Houghton and Rachel A. Highfield. He was the proud grandfather of Joseph R. Houghton and Caitlyn M. Houghton.

He is also survived by siblings, Roxanne Highfield-DeBruyn, Daryl (Denise) Highfield, Rana (Donald) Shepperson, nieces Heather DeBruyn and Stephanie Shepperson and great nieces, Isabella and Chole. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a funeral service at 7:00 pm in the Harold W. Vick Funeral Home, 140 South Main, Mount Clemens, Michigan. The Rev.

Gary Richard, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate. Private inurnment will be held at the columbarium at Trinity Lutheran Church, Clinton Township, Michigan. Contributions may be addressed to the American Cancer Society.
