Kristin Heins Carlson, 48, of Newport, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2018, at Vidant Medical Center. Kristin honorably served in the United States Navy where she had the opportunity to see the world. She worked for her family’s business as well as a certified framer.

Most recently, she worked as a cashier with Food Lion in Morehead City. Kristin loved animals and was a great mother that would do anything for her kids, she put them before herself at all times. She is survived by her son, Matthew Noble Carlson of Newport; and twins, Graci Ann Love Badders and Seth Owen Christian Badders, both of Wilmington; sisters, Kelly Ann Hodges and husband, Bobbie, of Newport and Heather Amber Lyons and husband, Chuck, of Newport; brothers, Edward Heins of New York; and her 3 dogs, Cooper, Olga and Sophie.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn Amber Nellis and father, Herman Kurt Heins. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to Autism Speaks at 1 East 33rd Street, 4th Floor, New York, NY 10016. Online condolences may be made at www.
