Obituary for LaDonna M. Chalstrom LaDonna Marie Martin Chalstrom, 84, returned to her home in heaven on May 22, 2018 after succumbing to cancer. She is very much loved and will be missed until we are reunited once again. She was born June 7, 1933 in St. Peter, MN to Rev.

Orville and Elzada Martin. She met the love of her life, Robert Alan Chalstrom (Bob) at Augustana Lutheran College in Rock Island, IL. They were married August 22, 1953, by her father, in San Francisco at Ebenezer Lutheran Church.

LaDonna was the consummate pastor’s wife as she and Bob served parishes in Veradale, WA, Richfield, MN, Arvada, CO, and finally, for 18 years, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cheyenne, WY. She served as organist, choir director, Sunday school teacher, and all-round help-mate for her husband. LaDonna continued her education over the years and received her Master’s Degree from the University of Northern Colorado in 1970.

Continuing her love of service, she taught in the school system most of her life; everything from Kindergarten and Music to High School Psychology. She also worked as a Social Worker, School Counselor and School Administrator. After retiring in 1984 from the Cheyenne School District, LaDonna became a Title 1 facilitator for non-public schools, a grief counselor, and certified massage therapist.

She also served on many committees, community boards and worked as a coordinator for Meals on Wheels. Always a strong advocate for youth, she was a founding member for The Attention Home. LaDonna’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family especially at their mountain vacation home in Colorado.

She always gave her every effort to make sure others around her were having the time of their lives. LaDonna is survived by her husband of 64+ years, Rev. Bob Chalstrom, her three children: Lynette Edner (Paul), Brian Chalstrom (Cindy), of Cheyenne, and Lisa Stump (Gary) of Clive, Iowa; eight grandchildren: Erik Edner, Adam Edner, Beth Chalstrom, Laura Chalstrom, Ben Chalstrom, Brian Stump, Carl Stump, and Caroline Stump; four great grandchildren: Hayden Hicks, Lauren and Ben Stump, and Brooklyn Stump.

She is also survived by her sister Andra Hamilton (Jerry) of Northfield, MN and her brother Tim Martin (Jerri) of Minneapolis, MN and many beloved nieces and nephews and their families. LaDonna is preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Elzada Martin; her dearly missed daughter-in- law, Cindy Chalstrom; and her beloved sister-in-law, Lois Brown.
