Lana Rae Hamblin, a resident of Cottonwood, died Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Southeast Health. She was 76. Funeral services for Mrs. Hamblin will be held at 11 AM Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Howard Grove Freewill Baptist church with Rev.

Dwight Deal officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM prior to the services at the church.

Mrs. Hamblin was born September 16, 1942 in Harveyton, Kentucky to the late Jess and Opha Wooten Cornett. She was a 1961 graduate of MC Napier High School. Following high school she married Curt Hamblin on October 4, 1969 and shortly thereafter they moved to Alabama.

Mrs. Hamblin loved cooking for her family and friends and was a 40 year member of Howard Grove Freewill Baptist. Mrs. Hamblin is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Brenda Jo Moss and a brother, Pearl Cornett. Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Curt Hamblin; sons, Kevin and Kimberly Hamblin, Keith Hamblin; grandchildren, Brittany and Taylor Hamblin, Miranda Lisenby and Kadie Matthews; great grandchildren, Eli Lisenby, Alana Lisenby and Madison Matthew; sisters, Bobbie Joyce McIntosh, Dot Moore, Lillie Faye Sumner, Deloris Ann Lawson, and Phyllis Jean Wilson.
