Lance Wesley Leeper of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 8:50 a.m. on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne, Indiana at the age of 47. He was born on May 28, 1971 in Bremen, Indiana to Deane Leeper and Lanetia Mae (Davis) Christner. Lance was a resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana for the past 35 years, where he was a 1989 graduate of Warsaw Community High School, and a graduate of ITT Technical Institute.

In his youth he worked at Owen’s Supermarket in Warsaw for many years, and he worked for DePuy in Warsaw for 18 years as a packager. Lance was a board member for the Warsaw Little League for over 20 years, where he served as president. He was a hard worker, avid race fan, loved sprint cars, the little-league park, avid Chicago Cubs, and Notre Dame fan.

He loved life and will be remembered as a great son, brother, uncle and friend. Even though he was here just a short while, he made a huge impact on the lives of many…. he will be dearly missed by all.

He will be lovingly remembered by his mother: Lanetia Mae Christner (Warsaw, Indiana); father: Deane (wife Sherrie) Leeper (Bourbon, Indiana); three brothers: Jeff (wife Connie) Christner (Middlebury, Indiana); Layne (wife Lezlea) Leeper (Bourbon, Indiana); Travis Leeper (Bourbon, Indiana); and four sisters: Stephanie (husband Brian) Salyer (Warsaw, Indiana); Lyna (husband Jerry) Moriarty (Etna Green, Indiana); Amy (husband Hager) Holbrook (Tippecanoe, Indiana); Layne (husband Kevin) Knight (Fort Wayne, Indiana). He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, as well as his best friend, pal, and companion: Kahne-Dog. He was preceded in death by his stepfather: Jerry Joe Christner on November 9, 2017.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana. His funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Pastor Jarod Osborne. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.

Memorial donations in Lance’s memory may be directed to Warsaw Little League, P.O. Box 153, Warsaw, Indiana 46581 and would be appreciated by the family.
