Obituary for Mr. Larry Clay Hatcher Larry Clay Hatcher, 65, of Tallahassee, Florida passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his children on Monday, November 12, 2018. Larry was born in Marianna, Florida on February 17, 1953. He graduated from Marianna High School in 1971.

He received his AA degree from Chipola Junior College in 1973. Following his graduation, he attended Florida State University, becoming a lifelong, avid fan and supporter of the Florida State Football program. In 1978, Larry began his career in the oilfield industry with Otis Engineering Corp.

in Houma, LA. He also worked for Halliburton but ended his career with Boots and Coots. He was extremely proud of his accomplishments throughout his career.

His work took him all over the world and his knowledge, expertise and dedication to safety was well known world wide and earned him respect and appreciation from all who knew him. He retired from Boots and Coots in February of 2015, after climbing the ladder and starting from a snubbing operator to ending his career as a global equipment coordinator. He returned to his home, the Florida panhandle, after he retired.

He chose to move to Tallahassee to be close to his children and grandchildren, where he took on his most valued role as daddy and grandpa. In this role, he won the most honors, as he ALWAYS put his family and their needs above his own. He loved watching College Football and taking long country rides around the area he grew up in.

Larry was the son of the late Lawerence Clay and Myrtice Devane Hatcher. He is survived by his daughter, Beverly Suzanne Garrett and partner, Jennifer Harris; and son, Brian Clay Hatcher and partner, Lindsey Ellis. He was called grandpa by Addison Rhian Garrett, Rhyley Elizabeth Garrett, and Hannah Kylann Hatcher.

A sister, Sue Cornelius; and the mother to his children and lifelong friend, Jane Tillman; and his former spouse and friend, Nancy Hatcher also survive him. He was so greatly loved by all that knew him. To say he had a unique character and was one of the most giving people with a heart of gold does not begin to describe the genuine persona of Larry C. Hatcher.

Rest in Peace Daddy. We will miss you. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to support survivors of Hurricane Michael in and around Marianna, Florida.
