Larry’s Obituary Larry Eugene Deaton was born on June 12, 1960 to Darwin “Dabo” Deaton and Maxine Cummings Deaton. Larry was survived by his wife, Daphne Amanda Swearingen Deaton; his son, Darris Marshall Deaton; daughter, Jocelyn Glass Burkes and husband, Andrew; son, Jordan Glass and wife, Meghan; son, Dwayne Eldridge and wife, Bevin. Larry treasured his grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

He gave each one a nickname: Duely Wyatt Deaton “Dude”, Dana Elizabeth Deaton “Toog”, Charleigh Jayne Deaton “Chuck”, Paisleigh Olivia Burkes “Petunia”, Ella Grace Glass “Sweet Pea”, and Allen Wayne Eldridge “Noodle”. Larry was survived by his siblings, Sandra Gelatt and husband, Skip, John Deaton and wife, Georgia; brother-in-law, Richard Swearingen and wife, Shannon; his many nieces and nephews, Emily Clark and husband, Adam, Ryan Gelatt, Jacob Deaton, Jordan Deaton, Genna Deaton, Justin Deaton, Madison Swearingen, and Jeffrey Swearingen; and his mother-in-law, Daphne Capps. Larry volunteered as a teenager and as an adult at the Eastside Fire Department in East Baton Rouge.

He lived to go fishing and hunting in Columbia, LA, J.C. Camp in Bude, MS, and Lake Mary in Woodville, MS. He was a master plumber and master gas fitter. He made many life-long friends through work, fishing, and hunting.

He started his own business in 2003 and lived in Kentwood, LA. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, from 5:00PM until 9:00PM on Wednesday and from 8:00AM until religious services at 10:00AM on Thursday, January 17, 2019. Services conducted by Dr. Danny Smith.
