Larry Gene Shealy, 64, of Ladson, husband of Marilyn Baker Shealy, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2019 at Moncks Corner Medical. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 11 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. A gathering of friends and family will be held immediately following the service.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Carolina Children’s Charity, 1064 Gardner Rd. , Charleston, SC 29407. Larry was born on March 29, 1954 in Charleston, SC, son of Eula Blume Shealy of Blythewood and the late Sherrod Earl Shealy.

He graduated Middleton High School in Charleston, SC. He was a firefighter for the City of Columbia and a federal firefighter for 33 years at all the joint bases. He worked for Santee Cooper as a security guard.

Larry was a very loving family man, passionate firefighter, good provider, animal lover, devoted Christian and collector of trucks. Survivors include: two sons: Raymond Gene Shealy (Desiree) of San Diego, CA and William Robert Shealy (Traci) of Summerville; one granddaughter: Elizabeth Marie Shealy; two brothers: Sherrod Shealy (Chris) of Hampton, VA and Frank Shealy (Valerie) of Blythewood. He was predeceased by one daughter: Karla Marie Shealy.
