Obituary for Larry James Walsh Larry James Walsh September 1, 1944 – December 12, 2018 Cashmere, Washington Larry James Walsh, 74, a lifetime Cashmere resident, passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. He was born on September 1, 1944, in Wenatchee, WA, to the late Patrick and Elinor (Jurgens) Walsh. He was raised in Cashmere and he attended Vale Elementary and Cashmere Middle School.

He completed his education at Cashmere High School and graduated with the class of 1962. He entered the US Navy and served four years, receiving his honorable discharge in 1967. He began work as an independent contractor for a private railroad company, building rail track in Oregon.

He went on to work as a Core Driller for the Bureau of Reclamation in Grand Coulee, WA. He retained his home in Cashmere through this time, upon returning in 2000 when he retired. Larry was a lifelong Catholic and a longtime member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Catholic Church in Cashmere.

He especially enjoyed hunting, he would make yearly trips to Idaho, or Montana to bow hunt for elk and deer. He was happiest when in the woods. He is survived by his four siblings: Joni (Paten) Thomason of Cashmere, WA, Patty (Donnie) Jones of Cashmere, WA, Tony (Robin) Walsh of Pasco, WA, and Jeff (Julie) Walsh of Cashmere, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gene Walsh; and sister, Shelley Hinkle. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, 300 S. Division St., Cashmere, WA. A Rosary Vigil will be held at 5:00 p.m., on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, in Cashmere.
