Obituary for Larry W. Scott Larry W. Scott, 75, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, June 02, 2018 at the Linda E. White Hospice House surrounded by his family. Larry was born May 6, 1943 in Evansville to the late Macer and Emma Jane (Parkinson) Scott. He was a 1961 graduate of Mater Dei High School and served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps and as a Devil Dog.

Semper Fi. Larry was a past commandant and a life member of the Marine Corps League River Cities Detachment 1090 and a life member of VFW Post #1114. Larry worked as an electrician with IBEW Local #16 and served as the president, business manager and journeyman training instructor for the IBEW before retiring.

Larry served on the Governor’s Labor Advisory Board, Citizens Advisory Committee Indiana State Unemployment Division, Regional Board of Trustees at Ivy Tech Community College, Vanderburgh County Corrections Program Advisory Board, Central Labor Council Committee AFL-CIO, Area Workforce Investment Board, Posey County Welfare Advisory Board, the Posey County Wage Board and as the vice president of the Lower Ohio Valley Building Trades. He enjoyed his hobby in archeology, reading about history, watching old westerns and going to flea markets and yard sales. Surviving Larry are his wife Casey (Perry) Scott; daughters, Christy Scott of Walterboro, SC, Starr Scott of Indianapolis, IN and Jayma (Chad) Alderson of Evansville; sons, Tony Lett of Evansville and Rodney (Heather) Lett of Elberfeld; one sister, Linda Colbert of McKinney, TX; brothers, Alan (Sondra) Scott and Jon (Sierra) Scott, both of Evansville; fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a son, Paul D. Lett. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where the Vanderburgh County Marine Corps League will conduct a presentation at 6:00 PM. Following the services Tuesday, Larry’s body will be cremated.
