Obituary for Robert D. DeWig Robert “Darrell” DeWig, 68, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018 at his home. Darrell was born November 16, 1949 in Evansville to the late Robert V. and Eileen (Spindler) DeWig. He had worked as an owner and operator of DeWig’s Body Shop.

Darrell enjoyed spending time fishing on his lake and watching old westerns. He was a former member of the Riverbend Association and the Evansville Athletic Club. Surviving Darrell are his wife of 38 years, Joy (Smith) DeWig; daughters, Terra (Matthew) Fellers, Eileen “Nicole” (Jay) McReynolds and Hannah (Tony) Salts, all of Evansville; one son, Darrell (Bertha) DeWig, Jr. of Shelbyville, IN; grandchildren, Jake, Brooke, Sieara, Paighton, Colin, Bram, Sophie, Taylor, Carol and Kennedy and three great grandchildren.

Also surviving are three brothers, Gary (Vickie) DeWig of Evansville and David (Donna) DeWig and Kenneth DeWig, both of Mt. Vernon, IN. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, Pastor Jerry Daniels officiating.

Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 7:00 PM on Monday at Pierre Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
