Obituary for Larry W. White Larry W. White, age 71, of Surgoinsville, TN, passed away unexpectedly at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. A native of Boone North Carolina, Larry was the Son of the late Lena and Lee Roy Grindstaff. “I died today, but it’s been a hell of a ride” Larry was a Vietnam Veteran who served 8 years in the United States Air Force.

He was of the Baptist faith and was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed life to the fullest. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved spending time outdoors. Larry loved to listen to music and also loved watching the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He retired from Siemens in 2004 after working there for 32 years. Those left to cherish his memory include, his wife of 38 years Peggy White, of the home; Two sons, Wes White and wife Megan, of Church Hill, Jeff White, of Elizabethton; Three daughters, Libby Lewis, Dede Cooper, both of Johnson City, Mitzi Bowen and husband Gary, of Unicoi; Four Grandsons, Brian Bowen, Taylor Collins, Aaron White and Tucker White; Two Granddaughters, Jada Collins, Heather Powell; One Great Granddaughter, Marlee Powell, and one great grandchild on the way. The family will hold a Celebration of Life at 3:00 PM on Saturday April 14, 2018 at the residence of his daughter Mitzi and her husband Gary Bowen, 609 Sciota Rd, Unicoi, TN.
