Obituary for Gary Leroy Crawford Gary Leroy Crawford, 71, of Johnson City, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Lakebridge Health Care. He was a native of Limestone and son of Ethelyn Crawford Hassell and the late Roy C. Crawford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents: Frank Crawford, Leona Watts Crawford, Richard C. Rector, and Jessie Pearl Rector.

Gary proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He later worked at A.O. Smith and retired after thirty five years of service. Gary loved camping with family and friends.

He also enjoyed antique cars, music and dancing. He was a member of the Johnson City Moose Lodge. In addition to his mother, those left to cherish Gary’s memory include his loving wife, Mildred Ann Crawford, son, Gary Dale Crawford, step-children: Brandi Thomas, and Adam Thomas; sister, Linda Elliot, brother, Doug Crawford, very special grandchildren: Tre Whelchel, Timothy Thomas, and Byron Thomas; niece, Angela Foster Scott and her husband Chad Scott, nephew, Greg Foster, great-nephew, Levi Foster, special fur baby and companion, Sadie, several cousins, and many friends.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff at the VA Medical Center, Caris Health Care, and Lakebridge Health Care for all the care and support provided to Gary during his stay there. Thanks to the best neighbors in the world, Chester Smith, Mitzi Malone, Kim Malony, Ian Randolph, John and Bonni Wollard for all the love and support that they have provided, and to special friends, Bobbie and Eddie Huffine, and many other friends. A Graveside and Committal Service for Gary will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Washington County Memory Gardens with Pastor Matthew Young officiating.

Active pallbearers will be Barry Woods, Bill Grindstaff, Ian Randolph, John Wollard, Eddie Huffine, and Matthew Huffine. Chester Smith and Robert Goodman will serve as honorary pallbearers. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:50 pm on Tuesday.
