Laura J. Miller Childress, 62, of Chesterfield, VA passed away January 22, 2019. Laura was an employee for many years and ended up retiring from Philip Morris. Aside from work, Laura enjoyed the outdoor life.

She especially loved the water. One of her favorite pastimes was fishing and just going to the ocean. More than anything, Laura loved her family and enjoyed spending every moment she had with them.

Laura is survived by her daughter Rachel Gilliam (John); a sister LaVerne Moncrief (John); two brothers Robert Miller, Jr. (Linda) and Larry Miller; seven grandchildren, Alexis Gilliam (Josh), Mikey Gilliam, Coutaney Gilliam, Zakkary Crockett, Stacie Crockett, Harlie Crockett and Brittanie Crockett; and seven great-grandchildren, Brady, L.J., Savannah, Hannah, Luci, Jaxon and Maddison. A memorial service will be held 11 AM Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Walthall Baptist Church, 14001 Woods Edge Rd. , S. Chesterfield, VA 23834.

A reception will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rachel Gilliam, 9006 Blue Oak Ct. , North Chesterfield, VA 23237, this will help defray the cost of Laura’s medical bills.
