Obituary for Lauretta Steen Lauretta Mary Steen, died peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on September 5, 2018. She was 94 years of age. Lauretta was born in Alanson, Michigan on September 21, 1923, daughter of the late Dale and Irma (Kinert) Horn.

She was united in marriage to her beloved husband, John, on December 14, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan. The couple made their home in Detroit and their union was blessed with three beautiful children whom she loved and cherished. After the couple both retired, in 1980 they built their retirement home in Alanson on their family property.

Lauretta look forward to tending her vegetable garden in the warm summer months; and canning so her she could enjoy her fruits of labor all year long. She loved to cook for everyone and all loved her meals; especially her Pot Roast. Lauretta enjoyed crocheting countless pot holders and blankets for those she loved.

There was not one birthday in the family that went by that there wasn’t a card and special message from Lauretta. She was the epitome of love and strength. Lauretta made everyone feel special and that they were the only one.

There was never a “Good Bye” but always “I love you” and a hug that would last forever. Lauretta will be deeply missed and her light will continue to glow in our hearts forever. Lauretta is the beloved wife of the late John; dearest mother of Charlene Steen and the late Ronald Steen and Cheryl Glenn; dear mother-in-law of Robert Glenn, Gina Steen and the late Karen Steen; cherished grandmother of Kimberly (Kevin) Beneteau, Tamela (David) Broadbridge, Brian (Christie) Glenn, Cheryl Ann (Kasey) Nelson, David (Sharon) Steen, Jim (Lyn) Steen and Richard (Corinne) Steen; loving great grandmother of Jennifer Ann (Scott), Gregory Jr. (Deanna), Sherie, Robert (Emily), Christopher, Brendan,David (Amber), Jessica(Jeff), Daniel (Kelly), Ashley (Anthony), Elizabeth, Brandon, Brian II, Scotty, Kamden, Savannah, Jacob, Jordan, Ali, Sophia and Anthony; and great great grandmother of Alyssa, Matthew, Gregory III, Grace, Kailey, Aurora, Keelan, Cristiano, Penelope, Amelia Rose and Emrie Rose; beloved sister of Leon and the late Bernard Horn; and dearest aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Road, Fraser Thursday from 1pm until the time of funeral service at 7pm. Burial will be held on Saturday at Little Field Cemetery in Alanson, Michigan. Share memories with family at www.
