Rose was born in Renton, Pennsylvania on January 10, 1922, the only daughter of six children to the late John and Tresa (Frescura) Fedon.

She was united in marriage to her loving husband, Joseph Frank Coppens, on June 6, 1946 in Detroit and was blessed with two children they loved and cherished.
