Obituary for Alan Goniwiecha Alan Goniwiecha, resident of Sterling Heights, died peacefully November 12, 2018. He was 73 years of age. Alan was born on March 2, 1945 in Hamtramck, Michigan, son of Alfred and Rita (Bartkowiak) Goniwiecha.
He was a 1964 Graduate of Center Line High School. In 1971, he graduated as a Tool and Die Maker through Macomb Community College and apprenticeship under sponsorship of Bower Roller Bearing Division, Federal-Mogul Corp and received Journeyman Card in 1972. Alan left for Tucson, Arizona in 1974 to work for Hughes Aircraft as a supervisor of NC machinery and then San Diego, CA for Solar Turbines International as a Manufacturing Engineer.
He then moved back to his hometown in 1982 and retired from General Dynamics in 1990 due to an injury. Alan lived a good life, full of adventure. He enjoyed fishing, walking and working out at Lifetime Fitness.
Alan loved animals especially birds and his cats. He especially enjoyed traveling and being with friends and family. He will be greatly missed.
Alan is the brother of the late Thomas, and survived by, Lawrence, Joel, Susan, Mark, Steven, Marcia, James, Nancy, Robert, Julie, Jon, Ruth, Janice, Lorene, and former wife, Dolores; uncle to many loving nieces and nephews. A Mass will be celebrated at St. Martin de Porres, 31555 Hoover Rd, Warren 48093 on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 11:30am. Family will receive guest starting at 11am.
