Obituary for Joel Gregg Ludeman Joel G. Ludeman, a longtime resident of Warren, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on November 3, 2018. He was 68 years old. Joel was born on January 4, 1950 in Port Huron to Everette and Verna (nee Schneider) Ludeman.

He later met and married the love of his life, Patricia Culbertson, on August 15, 1981 at Bethany Presbyterian Church in Detroit. Shortly after marriage, the couple made their home in Warren. Joel worked for many years as a bus driver for Warren Public Schools.

Outside of his work, he enjoyed camping, canoeing (known as Captain Canoe), traveling, and always knew how to have a fun. For many years, Joel was Santa Claus for the City of Warren. He was so dedicated to making children feel special during Christmas that he learned American Sign Language for those who could not hear.

He brought Christmas spirit and joy to generations of children in Warren. He was also a member of the Mason Zion Lodge and the Loyal Order of the Moose. Joel was a true family man who deeply cared for those he loved.

He will be deeply missed. Joel is the beloved husband of Patricia; dear father of the late Scott Ludeman; and cherished brother of Lawrence (Dee) Ludeman, Judith Sawdon, and Sue Lynn Saltaformaiggo; and loving uncle to four nephews, fourteen nieces, and many great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many cousins and friends.

Joel was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 10am until time of the memorial service at 11am at the Faulmann and Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Road, Fraser, Michigan 48026.
