Obituary for Irma Almazan Irma Almazan, longtime resident of Detroit, died peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on October 23, 2018. She was 61 years of age. Irma was born in East Chicago, Indiana on April 29, 1957, daughter of Pedro and Nicomedes (Hernandez) Montantes.

She was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Robert Almazan on April 29, 1977/ The couple made their home in Detroit and was blessed with a son, Robert David Almazan, of whom they loved and cherished. Irma loved cooking and baking; and sharing her delicious cookies and bake goods. She had quite the eye for design and always made the flower arrangements and decorations for all her family’s weddings.

Irma will always be known for her kind heart, her giving hands and her love of the Lord. She will be deeply missed. Irma is the dear wife of the late Rev.

Robert; loving mother of Robert David; cherished sister of Gloria Purnell, Martha (Ruben) Flores, Efrain (Melvis) Montantes, John ( Juanita) Montantes, Blanca (Ralph) Herrera, Elena (Fernando Aguinaga) Montantes and Tony (Esmeralda) Montantes; beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews; and dearest friend to many. Visitation will be held at Christ Tabernacle, 14205 E. 12 Mile Road, Warren, MI 48088, Sunday from 3pm until the time of funeral service at 3:30pm. Share memories at www.
