Obituary for Jean Brunke (Gravel) Jean Brunke, a resident of Waterford, died surrounded by the love of family in her home under the care of hospice on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at the age of 100 years. Jean was born in Detroit on November 15, 1918, a daughter of the late Philip and Alice (Serr) Gravel. She was a graduate of Eastern High School of Detroit.

Jean was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Buford Haas who preceded her in death on September 20, 1972. The couple made their home in Detroit and later in St.Clair Shores. She enjoyed traveling with him to Europe, buying a VW Camper and bringing it back to the US and camping and traveling here.

On November 1, 1975 she was united in marriage to Lawrence Brunke, who also preceded her in death. The couple made their home in Waterford and wintered in Dade City, Florida for many years. Jean had worked for many years as a bookkeeper for the Hamilton Fish Company of Detroit, retiring in 1975.

She was an avid sewer and cross stitch artist, enjoyed fishing, roller skating, bingo and playing Uchre. A very fun loving person who never wanted to think of being old, she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Jean is survived by her loving daughter, Diane (Patrick Jr.) Suhy; her loving grandchildren, Patrick Jr. (Deborah) Suhy, Sloan (Greg) Bayer and Brian (Carrie) Suhy.

She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both husbands, her granddaughter, Jean, brothers, Philip, Leslie and sisters, Mildred-Jean and Kaye. Visitation will be held at the Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Rd.

Fraser, Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 2pm till 6pm with a life celebration following at the Gazebo Hall of Warren. Burial in White Chapel Cemetery will be private.
