Obituary for Leon Gustave DeMeyere Leon Gustave DeMeyere, a longtime resident of Grosse Pointe, died following a long illness on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at the age of 82. Leon was born on March 1, 1936, son of the late Gustave and Margaret (Delmotte) DeMeyere. He had worked as a Sheet metal worker in his younger years and later for over 30 years as a maintenance engineer for the Grosse Pointe Park, retiring at the age of 65.

He loved boating, having a good time and partying with his many friends. He was a longtime member of the Fugawee Yacht Club. Leon will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Leon is survived by his daughters, Debbie and Bonnie DeMeyere and Donna Winnega; his sisters Dolores Nemeckay and Eileen(Felix) Clauw; 4 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Rd. , Fraser, Friday, January 4, 2019 from 5pm till time of funeral service at 7:30pm.
