Obituary for Charles Hallie Custer Charles H. Custer, resident of Clinton Township, died peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on December 30, 2018. He was 83 years of age. Charles was born on November 25, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Claude and Edna (Lambert) Custer.

He served our country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Charles was united in marriage to his beloved, Stella Marie on August 17, 1956 and their union was blessed six children of whom they loved and cherished. Charles started a career in the printing industry and spent most of his career at Kramer Printing in downtown Detroit.

He was quite the character who was commonly known as “Big Daddy” to most. Charles lived life to the fullest and enjoyed being out around town. He loved going to the family property in Hale, Michigan and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Charles also enjoyed golfing during the warm summer months. Charles will be deeply missed and his light will continue to shine in our hearts forever. Charles is the beloved husband of the late Stella; dearest father of William, Charles, Richard (Kimberly),Sherill (Ricky) Allen, Geanne Nations and the late Robert Custer; cherished grandfather of Barbie, Nicole, Jessica, Nathaniel, John, Leah, Sherillanne,Kaitlyn Charleen, Janie and Jacob; dear great grandfather of Savannah, Levi, Jackson, Nicholas, Gwendolyn and Jayce.

He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and by his beloved grand dogs and cats. Visitation will be held at Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Road, Fraser, Saturday from 12 noon till time of funeral service at 3pm with military honors. Burial will take place next to his wife in Esmond Evergreen Cemetery in Hale, Michigan at a later date.
