Obituary for Gregory Michael Hessen Sr. Print Gregory Michael Hessen Sr., a longtime resident of Warren, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2019. He was 64 years old. Gregory was born on August 16, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan to Charles and Victoria (nee Belfiore) Hessen.

He served his country honorably with the United States Navy. He met and married Denise Desmet on June 16, 1979 at St. Sylvester Church in Warren. Greg was very excited to be a father, and he was blessed with a loving son and daughter.

The couple made their first home in Detroit before settling in Warren to raise their family. Greg worked for many years as a heat treat technician for Ford Motor Company for over thirty two years before retiring. In his retirement, Greg worked as a groundskeeper for City of Warren Parks and Recreation Department.

Outside of his work, Greg loved Detroit Tiger’s baseball, family gatherings, and enjoyed taking his family up north every summer. Above all, Greg was a kind and caring man who truly cherished his friends and family. He will be deeply missed.

Greg is survived by his beloved wife Denise; loving children Gregory M. Hessen II and Jennifer (Erik) Hessen-Fox; cherished mother Victoria Keith; grand-dogs Bodhi and Gucci; step-mother Barbara Hessen; siblings Charles Keith, Tony Keith, Debbie Keith Kevin Hessen, Keith Hessen, Lynn Hessen, and Stacey Hessen. He is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Greg was preceded in death by his father and siblings, Kenny Keith and Jeff Keith.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 2-5pm with a funeral service at 5pm at the Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Road, Fraser, Michigan 48026.
