Obituary for Carolyn Marie Stewart Carolyn Marie Stewart, resident of Clinton Township, was called home to her heavenly home on November 18, 2018. She was 70 years of age. Carolyn entered into life on September 21, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan, a beautiful daughter of James and June (Crice) DeRose.

She was a 1967 graduate of L’anse Creuse High School. She began working as a school bus driver in 1972 and worked for 36 dedicated years, retiring in 2008. Carolyn loved working everyday and absolutely loved the children.

She was a car enthusiast who loved antique cars, especially the Mustang. She was the first female to be the proud owner and operator of a firetruck club; it was a 1959 Ford. Carolyn was a longtime member of the Great Lakes International Antique Fire Apparatus Association.

She was known as the “Grinding Granny” to her family. She along with her family enjoyed every year attending and participating in the Frankenmuth Muster. Carolyn also enjoyed her Monday night bowling league with her friends.

In her downtime, she loved watching football and Days of Our Lives. To know Carolyn was to love her. She was not only an inspiration but a role model to her children, grandchildren and to the many she has touched in her lifetime.

Her labors of love also shined through by always being there for her family and the willingness to do anything for them. Carolyn was a devoted and caring woman, with great values, who lived her life with a purpose. Carolyn knew and loved the Lord.

She touched an innumerable number of hearts and lives, and the compassion and friendship that she extended to others was a blessing to all who knew her. Carolyn was the loving mother of James (the late Loreen) Peifer, Jasend (Tylla) Peifer and Bonnie (Tim) Yager; cherished grandmother of Jared, Sydney, Bradley, Alexis, Bryce, MaKenna, Owen and Donovan; and sister of Edward DeRose. Visitation will be held at Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Road, Fraser, Saturday, November 24, 2018, from 9:30am until the time of funeral at 12:30pm with Pastor Dennis Wegner.
