Laurie J. Maffeo (McMahon), life-long resident of East Boston, passed away after a brief illness at Mass. General Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Friday November 9th at the age of 57. Laurie was born in the Bronx, NY on July 9, 1961 to William and Margaret (O’Connor) McMahon.

Her family moved to East Boston where she grew up and lived all her life. She was the devoted mother of James Robert Graham and Tina Leggiero (Maffeo) of East Boston. Dear sister of Eileen Piccirillo and her husband Ralph of Peabody, Donna McMahon of Malden, Margaret “Peggy” Struppa and her husband Jack of Winthrop and Billy McMahon and his wife Karissa of Lynn.

Adored grandmother of Lily Leggiero. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Family and friends will honor Laurie’s life by gathering at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home 971 Saratoga St., East Boston on Monday November 12th from 4:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M. A funeral service in celebration of Laurie’s life will take place immediately folllowing the visitation in the Serenity Chapel of the Memorial Home.

Laurie was a proud member of the East Boston Community. She loved volunteering on local political campaigns and was very active in the neighborhood. She worked for many years as a waitress at Kelly’s Pub in East Boston.

She always remembered your name when you went down there and greeted you with a big smile. She will be missed by all.
