Lela Jean Wise Shaner, age 86, of Muddy Creek Twp. , passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the Butler Memorial Hospital. Born June 17, 1931 in Boyers, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth E. and Ruth May Crawford Wise.

Lela was a Charter member of the Portersville Alliance Church, where she and her husband were founding members. She and her husband also assisted with the establishment of the Portersville Christian School. She was a homemaker and loved her flowers.

She will be remembered for making flower arrangements for her family, friends, and the Church. Surviving are her husband, Robert Shaner, who she married on September 8, 1951 in Newport Kentucky; her children Mark (Diane) Shaner of Ellwood City and Eileen Shaner of Port St Lucie, Fl; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and her brother Wesley Wise of New York, and her sister Barbara Sterner of Grove City. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Brenda McCormick; twin sister Lila Rhodes; sisters Kathryn Peoples, Charlotte Patten; and her grandson Derrick Stevens.

Visitation will be on Saturday, from 9am until time of service at 11am, in the Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main Street, Prospect. The funeral service will be held 11am, in the funeral home, with her preacher, Pastor Robert Frye, of Portersville Alliance Church, officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Burial Estates, Butler.

Memorial contributions may be given in Lela’s memory to the Portersville Food Pantry, PO Box 102, Portersville, PA 16051.
