Obituary for Lela Mathis Ms. Lela Mathis, age 93, of Dover, Tennessee, passed away, Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Clarksville, Tennessee. She was born April 9, 1925 in Stewart County, Tennessee, daughter of the late Thomas McGovern and Gertie Atkins McGovern. Ms. Mathis was a homemaker and attended the Dover First Church of the Nazarene.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Mathis, son, Bracy Mathis, brothers, Brandon McGovern and Bradford McGovern, sisters, Lizzie Earheart, Margaret Melton, Susie Mae Wallace, Georgie McGee, and Isabelle Milliken. Ms. Mathis is survived by her sons, Neal Mathis (Ruth) Dover, TN, Tommy Mathis (Debbie) Gallatin, TN, Ricky Mathis, Nashville, TN, and Ronnie Mathis (Melanie) Dover, TN, daughter in law, Beth Mathis, Big Rock, TN, sisters, Everee Lane, Dover, TN, Josephine Butler, SC, 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren. The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Anglin Funeral Home with Rev.

Garrette Milliken and Rev. Jonathan Leonard officiating. Burial will be in the Heflin Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until the time of service Sunday at Anglin Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Cory Mathis, William Mathis, Brian Duke, Jeremy Duke, Jim Lukens, and Ralph Glenn. Honorary pallbearers will be Albert Tanaro, Ken Neal, Nathan Hale, Ethan Waters, Josh Glenn, Ryan Tanaro, Betsy Gillespie, and the staff of Tennessee Quality Hospice.
