Obituary for Leo Alvis Franks Leo Alvis Franks, 96, of Magnolia, AR died Sunday, September 9, 2018 at the Community Compassion Center of Magnolia. Leo was born January 18, 1922 in Magnolia to the late Dewey Lee and Maybell Etta (Foreman) Franks. He proudly served his country as Sergeant in the United States Army Air Corp stationed in Germany and France during World War II.

He retired from Southern Extrusions/Alumax. He was a lifelong faithful member of the Macedonia Baptist Church for 78 years where he served on the Macedonia Baptist Church maintenance committee and the Macedonia Cemetery committee. He was a member of the Columbia County Cattleman’s Association and the Macedonia/Dorcheat Volunteer Fire Department.

He served on the Columbia County Co-Op Board. Leo was a hard worker all of his life, working on his farm, raising cattle and working in his garden. He was a proud Dad and Granddaddy He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 73 years Dorothy Franks; granddaughter Connie Rene Franks; brother Levon C. Franks; sisters in law Alene Franks and Betty Franks; and brother in law P.D. “Dock” Pearce.

Leo is survived by his sons Lynn Franks and wife Trisha, Kerry Franks and wife Barbara, and Randy Franks and wife Jan all of Magnolia; grandchildren Andy Franks and wife Joie of Texarkana, TX, Leslie Boyd and husband Thomas of Magnolia, Jason Franks and wife Erin of Benton, Jeremy Franks and wife Melissa of Benton, Matthew Franks of Magnolia, Kimberly Bailey and husband Jon of Texarkana, TX, and Jeffrey Franks and wife Holly of Magnolia; sister Wilma Pearce of Magnolia; brother J.T. “Bo” Franks of Magnolia; sixteen great grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the Macedonia Baptist Church with Bro. Joe Owens officiating.

Burial will follow at the Macedonia Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 11th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Andy Franks, Jason Franks, Jeremy Franks, Matthew Franks, Jeffrey Franks, Thomas Boyd, and Jon Bailey.
