Obituary for LEO J. MILESI Leo J. Milesi, 91, of Syracuse, passed away Christmas day at St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Tione, Italy to the late Luigi and Maria (Caterina) Milesi in 1927. He was a graduate of Solvay High School and a US Navy Veteran of World War II.

Leo worked in Electronics at General Electric for 18 years, was a safety supervisor at Schlitz Brewing Co. and was safety supervisor at the James A. Fitzpatrick Nuclear Power Plant in Oswego for over 15 years before retiring in 1992. He was recently predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Rita (Poissant) on October 21st. He was also predeceased by his brother, Aldo Miles.

Leo is survived by his daughter; Therese (Charles) Bishop, of Warners, his son; Paul Milesi, of Washington, DC, 3 grandchildren; Kimberlee Vargas, Andrew and Jeff Borchik, 7 great grandchildren; Raymond, Kyra, Trinity, Kaelyn, Jack, Emery and Brock and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 8:15 am Saturday at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME and 9:00 am at Holy Family Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and entombment with military honors will follow in St. Mary’s Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum, DeWitt.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 pm Friday at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Disabled American Veterans at www. dav.org.
