Leonard Fayette Clayburn, 72, passed into the loving arms of his Savior on July 5, 2018, in Oklahoma City. He was born in Lawton, on April 10, 1946, to Fayette Odell and Wilma (Long) Clayburn. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, July 9, at 10:00 A.M. at The Christian Center in Duncan with Pastor John Alexander, of Orlando, Florida, officiating.

Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home. Leonard attended Comanche High School.

He studied at Southwestern Assembly of God University in Waxahachie, Texas. He married Virginia Ann Wade on July 27, 1963, in Waurika. They had one daughter, Tammy.

He served as a pastor in Oklahoma, Texas, and Kentucky, and evangelized for over 30 years. He owned and operated Clayburn Asphalt & Concrete for 20 years, before retiring in 2017 when he sold the business to his grandsons, Jarrod and Caleb Field. He enjoyed deer hunting, 4-wheeling on the Colorado trails, and fishing.

He also enjoyed watching OU and Dallas Cowboys football. Most of all, he loved his family very much. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Billy Dan Sr. and Edna Clayburn; and sister, Vicky Selby.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Ann; daughter, Tammy and husband Carey Field of Marlow; grandchildren, Caleb Field, Jarrod and wife Ann Field, Brittany and husband Darren Alaniz, and Lacey and husband Brian Keith; great grandchildren, Jordan, Jackson, Madden, Weston, Dayton, Hadley and Whitley; brother, Randy Clayburn; and sisters Virginia Clayburn, Erlinda Hancock, and Sandy Kaiser; lifelong friend, Dick Duncan; and a host of other family and friends. . Pallbearers will be Wade Williams, David Tompkins, Ronnie Bernard, Gary Moore, Shannon Duncan, and Darrell Newton.

Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Clayburn Jr., James Miller, Donnie Wade, and Chad Thompson. Memorial contributions can be made in Leonard’s name to any of the local hospice organizations. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.
