SALISBURY CENTER – Leonard R. Lanphere, 59 formerly of the Plant Rd. Salisbury Center, NY passed away Monday, March 12, 2018 at The Pines of Utica. He was born November 4, 1958 in Little Falls the son of Gertrude (Herringshaw) Douglas of Herkimer and the late Royce M. Lanphere.

He was educated in Dolgeville and St. Johnsville Schools. Mr. Lanphere was employed over the years by the Adirondack Bat Co. and the former Daniel Green Co., both of Dolgeville and the Sentinel Co., St. Johnsville. He was last employed in the Logging Industry along with his father Royce in the Town of Salisbury.

He is survived by his mother Gertrude Douglas, Herkimer, his sons Royce L. Lanphere, Salisbury Center, Michael D. Lanphere, Little Falls and Scott M. Lanphere and his wife Marissa, Dolgeville, his daughter, Samantha Lanphere, Mohawk, his half-brothers, Gordon Brownell and his wife Rachel, St. Johnsville and Stephen Brownell, Herkimer, his sister, Darlene Mykel and her husband Leslie, Salisbury Center, his granddaughters, Crysten and CarLee Lanphere and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Royce Lanphere on February 11, 2009. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 2:00 pm from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY.

Interment will take place in Curtiss Cemetery, Town of Salisbury in the spring. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 1-2 pm and to attend the funeral services to follow.
