“If I walk in the pathway of duty, If I work til the close of the day, Lord I shall see the great king in all his beauty, When I’ve gone the last mile of the way, Lord, yes sir When I’ve gone the last mile of the way, oh yeah I shall rest at the close of day, For I know there are joy awaiting When I’ve gone the last mile of the way” The last mile of the way on this side of beautiful Zion was reached for our beloved, Lessie Mae Riddick Griffin, age 92 of 1424A Lynch’s Corner Road, Elizabeth City, NC as she made her transition to a land filled with milk and honey, never to want no more, on Saturday, October 27, 2018 in the care of her daughters residence. A service of love and remembrance will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, Elizabeth City, NC. A viewing of her earthly remains will take place on Thursday, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.at the funeral home.

The family will then lay her earthly shell to rest on Friday, in the Sawyer Cemetery. They will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Gwenda Griffin, 106 Palomino Court, Elizabeth City, NC. This precious and loving Griffin family has elected the professional care and compassionate services of Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations, to express a service of ministry to them and other connected families during this difficult time.

Knowing that earth hath no sorrows that heaven cannot heal, please continue to keep them in your prayers.
