Lester Honeyman, 90, of Rock Island, passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Silver Cross Nursing Center, Rock Island. Lester was born on December 17, 1927 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Max and Bessie Kurlap Honeyman. Lester married Alberta Hurry on July 1, 1997 in Rock Island, IL.

Lester served in the U.S. Navy from 1947 to 1950. He worked at First Trust & Savings Bank from 1950 to 1978 and at Boyd’s Fine Jewelry from 1979 to 2002. Lester is survived by his wife, Alberta; his sons, Albert L. Hurry (Carolyn), Milan and Allan L. Hurry (Kathleen), Bradenton, Florida; nephews, Michael and Jeffrey Farber, Los Angeles, CA; and his brother-in-law, Charles Farber, Los Angeles, CA.

There will be no visitation. Private graveside services will be Tuesday at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, where military honors will be conducted by the Moline American Legion Post No. 246.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family.
